About Me
I'm a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The University of Nottingham in the UK, and an 'experimentalist' (molecular microbiologist).
Project
Project 2: COSMIC “Systems Biology of Clostridium acetobutylicum - a possible answer to dwindling crude oil reserves”
Summary of current DM solution
COSMIC uses a flexible Alfresco-based content management system 'DaMaSys' (www.sbi.uni-rostock.de/damasys) for various internal purposes.
We also use the DaMaSys infrastructure to host our data repository, which is remotely-accessible to SysMO SEEK. The access-control mechanism allows us to make data, models and protocols available to groups or individuals within COSMIC or SysMO, or to publish it to the wider community.
We aim to store the contents of our repository using public standards where they exist, and using our own standards in other cases. For some types of content this is already possible, and we are currently working on standards for other types of content.
