SysMO-DB pals are the heart of our method for making SysMO-DB happen. These are the local pioneers, the early adopters, the eyes and ears of the SysMO projects.
Working with too many groups and so many voices is just too complicated and too much noise. By working with a small team of committed experimentalists, modellers and bioinformaticians drawn from the projects we can follow the mantra that “if we build for the few we can build for the many”. We can also build a close relationship between the pals and between the pals and the SysMO-DB team.

Pals are all the day to day users of our software, and as a result they are postdoc scientists and postgraduates. However, they need to be sheltered by sympathetic patrons– their professors and laboratory managers.
